Types of Bearing Bars-Flat Bar,I Bar,T Bar, Square Bar,Riveted Bar

Steel bar grating is widely used in factories, buildings, power plants, and other locations where a metal structure of easy movement and safety is needed.
Bar grating is quick to install, easy to clean, and offers both safety and strength. With a variety of bar types, a robust design and strong spanning capabilities, steel bar grating provides an economical solution for supporting floors and elevated walkways in many industries.

Steel gratings are produced in various bearing bar types, mainly:

Types of bearing bars

1.Flat Type:
Grating made from flat rectangular bars is the most common type of steel grating. Flat bar grate offers a good balance between load-bearing capacity and weight, commonly used in platforms, walkways, stair treads and drainage.

2. Serrated Type:
Serrated bearing bars are designed with notches / serrations along the top edge to provide slip resistance surface. Most of the standard bearing bars, flat bar or I-bar, T-bar, can be serrated. Serrated bar grating is suitable for moisture, oil and other slippery conditions.

3. I Bar:
Bearing bar with a cross sectional shape resembling the letter "I". Grating constructed with I-shaped bars reduce weight while maintaining strength, suitable for lightweight pedestrian walkways and light-duty industrial floors.

4. T Bar:
Featuring T-shaped bearing bars, this grating offers better load distribution compared to flat bars. T bar grate is mainly used in architectural projects and light industrial flooring.
5. Round Bar:
Grating of round bearing bar offers an aesthetic design with a good strength-to-weight ratio. Mainly used in decorative projects and drainage grating.
6. Riveted Bar Grating:
Flat bars or T-bars are riveted to cross bars, providing rigidity and strength under heavy loads. Riveted grating offers greater durability compared to welded or pressure-locked grating.

Bearing bars can be serrated or plain smooth.

BAR MATERIALS

Mild Carbon Steel Bars:
The load bearing bars can be produced from steel which conforms to the following equivalent standards: JIS G3101 SS400 or ASTM A36 or equivalent. Mild carbon steel material provides an economical, high strength for uses in most industrial and commercial applications.

Stainless Steel Bars:
Stainless bar grating is made mainly from material Type 304 (SUS304), 304L, Type 316 (SUS316) or Type 316L (SUS316L). SS grating is a choice for corrosive environments such as chemical, food and hydro processing areas. It is available in welded and press locked as well as in many bearing bar sizes. 304 stainless steel is the most popular type contains both chromium and nickel to provide excellent balance resistance and workability. 316 stainless steel offers better corrosion, and higher strength at elevated temperatures than 304.

Aluminum Bar Grating:

Aluminum grating is typically made from alloys such as 6061, 6063, 5052, and 5086.

BAR SURFACE TREATMENT:

Untreated
Grating bars can be supplied natural metal finish, allowing quick delivery to customers whom fabricate and galvanize the grating on their own.

Galvanized
Hot Dip Galvanizing can give a hygienic and clean maintenance free bright finish. The minimum average hot dip galvanized is coated as required by Standards AS1650, BS729 and ASTM A123.
